Double-bladed Bichawa Dagger
- Dated: 19th century
- Place of Origin: India
- Overall length: 13in (330mm); blade length: 8.25in (210mm)
This is an unusual 19th century Indian dagger known as a Bichawa (Scorpion) dagger. This example has the more desirable double blade which are nicely shaped, of diamond profile, with swollen tips – used to penetrate light armour / padding.
The large brass loop hilt fits over the palm of the hand, leaving the fingers free to grab/grapple or handle another weapon. Nicely fretted and pierced border, and two brass bulbous pommels used for striking.

Porkey is in the care of Lindsay E. who has this to say about her talented reptilian friend:
“This is Porkey, she’s an African Pygmy Chameleon. She’s in a bike gang with me (her mom.) Porkey is in such good shape and likes to eat fruit flies.”
